Although we have already notified the intellectual property and technology clinics of which we are aware, we wanted to let you know that WCL is hosting a meeting of such clinics on Thursday September 21st and the morning of Friday September 22nd. Given the significant expansion of IP and technology clinical programs over the last few years, we hope to focus on the topics listed below, but welcome suggestions for revisions or additions:
* Taking stock of which existing IP and technology clinics exist, what other clinics do IP and tech law work, and what work they all do
* Evaluating possibilities for closer networking on matters having common themes or potential for collective action
* Collaborating to represent IP and technology clinics in the clinical legal literature
* Sharing of pedagogical materials
* Use of the IP Clinic website
If you are in a clinic that does IP or technology law work, or hopes to do such work, or you hope to create such a clinic, or you are just interested in what such clinics do, please feel free to join us.
We also have planned for the evening of the 21st a reception and our annual distinguished lecture - this year to be given by Judge Alex Kozynski - so you get an added bonus for attending. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Steve Roberts (by email on the cc line or at 202-274-4148) as soon as possible, so that we can get a better sense of numbers for planning arrangements.
