Entry level tenure-track appointments

The law school has a number of curricular needs but is particularly interested in candidates with subject-matter expertise and scholarship in Criminal Law, Health Law, Torts, Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Entertainment Law, Trademarks, Patent Law, and/or Patent Practice and Procedure. In our Health Law program, the law school seeks faculty who are interested in supporting and developing certificates or directing programs. For patent law, the law school is particularly interested in members of the Patent Bar. All applicants should be ready and enthusiastic to teach both in our residential program in Concord, New Hampshire, and in our online programs including our innovative, specialized online Hybrid JD program in Intellectual Property, Technology, and Information Law.

Director of Legal Residency Program (Externships) and External Field Clinical Programs

This position is a faculty appointment in which the successful candidate is on an alternate security line (similar to clinical tenure) and is also a Program Director responsible for the following: counseling and supervising student externs; developing and maintaining school year legal residencies; teaching clinical externship courses; recruiting and supervising adjunct externship supervisors and teachers; and supervising the development and expansion of external field clinical programs in cooperation with the law school’s existing clinical offerings. As a member of the senior administration and working closely with the Office of Career Services, the Director will be responsible for legal residency and field clinical programs that provide opportunities in the context of the “real world” to develop the skills, values and knowledge to be successful lawyers and to make connections that will lead to post-graduation opportunities in a variety of fields.

UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law is committed to experiential education and specifically to allowing students opportunities to work in public service, government, in-house, law firm and judicial settings while earning academic credit. The school has a top-ranked Intellectual Property program and is uniquely situated as the only law school in New Hampshire. Director of Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic

The Director of the Intellectual Property Clinic is a full-time member of the law-school faculty who represents, and supervises and trains students to represent, clients in a variety of IP matters. The Director is also expected to teach associated IP courses in the residential and hybrid programs; serve as one of the law school’s primary connections to the IP bar; work with practicing attorneys and alumni to determine current needs in IP practice; and participate in faculty governance. The position demands administrative and communication skills necessary to run and promote a program that involves numerous constituents.
