The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law-legal writing-clinical track faculty
The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law seeks entry-level candidates for a clinical-track faculty position teaching legal writing. The faculty member will be part of Moritz’s top twenty legal writing program. Candidates should have relevant occupational experience and strong potential in all relevant areas of performance, including classroom teaching, feedback on student work, public service, and maintaining knowledge in the field. The College’s clinical-track faculty positions are non-tenure track, with security reasonably similar to tenure, as provided by ABA Standard 405(c) and include governance rights, the opportunity for advancement, access to a research budget, availability of summer research funds, and the potential for research leave.
The position will begin in the 2026-27 academic year. A J.D. or the equivalent is required. This is a nine-month appointment with eligibility for supplemental summer salary for research or other relevant contributions to the college. All Moritz College of Law faculty also receive a full research and professional development budget. The faculty member will be hired for a 5-year probationary period, then eligible for promotion to a long-term renewable contract that permits removal during the term of the renewed contract only for cause or financial exigency.
