Summary:
The Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic (L&E Clinic) provides legal services to approximately 300 entrepreneurs each year under the direct supervision of six clinical professors. The L&E Clinic embodies the Wisconsin Idea and serves entrepreneurs across Wisconsin, from high-growth startups developing cutting edge technology to Mainstreet businesses. The L&E Clinic provides a range of legal services for clients including entity selection and formation, intellectual property assistance, contract review and drafting, founder and employee advice, and more.
The L&E Clinic faculty teaches a seminar for the L&E Clinic students and provides day-to-day training, mentoring, and supervision of students. The L&E Clinic faculty maintains important community relationships, provides education to community partner organizations, and contributes in many other ways to our vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Key Job Responsibilities:
This position will work collaboratively with other L&E Clinic faculty to:
- Supervise law students working with entrepreneurs and startup businesses
- Meet weekly with students to provide guidance, instruction and feedback
- Develop curriculum and teach classes for the L&E Clinic seminar
- Improve the L&E Clinic’s systems and processes
- Maintain the L&E Clinic client pipeline
- Conduct intake meetings with potential clients
- Develop community connections that support the L&E Clinic’s work
- Research, write and disseminate educational articles and presentations
- Lead and/or assist with other strategic initiatives
- Support the Wisconsin entrepreneurial community, and the Wisconsin economy
- Participate in Law School service and committee work
